Data Protection

General Data Protection Regulations changed in 2018. These regulations cover all organisations that hold and process personal data whether held electronically or in paper copy form. The Lancashire County Senior Ladies' Golf Association, along with many other clubs and societies, is not exempt.

To comply with the Regulations we have prepared a Privacy Notice for the Association which is below. The Regulations specify that this is made available and is transparent to those whose data is being held or processed. The Privacy Notice sets out the Association's lawful basis for processing data, details what data is being held, what it is being used for, who it is shared with, how long it is held and what your rights are.

Privacy Notice

The Lancashire County Senior Ladies' Golf Association (LCSLGA) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. For any personal data you provide for the purposes of your membership, the LCSLGA is the Data Controller and is responsible for storing and otherwise processing that data in a fair, lawful, secure and transparent way.

What personal data we hold on you

You may give us information about you by filling in forms at an event or online, or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. This includes information you provide when you register with the LCSLGA. The information you give us may include your name, date of birth, address, e-mail address, phone numbers, name of any golf club you belong to, current golf handicap and CDH number.

Why we need your personal data​

The reason we need your Data is to be able to administer your membership, and provide the membership services you are signing up to when you register with the LCSLGA. Our lawful basis for processing your personal data is that we have a legitimate interest in you as a member to provide the services you are registering for.​

Reasons we need to process your data include:​

For competitions
  • notifying you of forthcoming events by post or by email
  • taking entries, payments and allocating playing groups and notifying competition results
  • notifying you of any last minute changes or problems such as course closures by phone or email
  • protecting individual members in case of illness or injury​
For membership and LCSLGA management​
  • processing of membership forms and payments;
  • sharing data with the LCSLGA Committee and Club Representatives to provide information about membership renewals, resignations or invitation to events;
  • LCSLGA website promoting the LCSLGA's activity;
  • publishing of competition and inter-county team results and display of photographs taken at events
  • publishing of accounts; maintaining records of names of competition trophy winners; and
  • maintaining records of which competitions you have played in to inform future venue choices.​

Who we share your personal data with​

The LCSLGA may share your personal data with the Committee and Club Representatives of the LCSLGA for the purposes of administering the LCSLGA and with our software providers for the sole purpose of supporting and maintaining our systems and webspace. Your name and golf club will be available to other members of the Association. The LCSLGA may share personal data with the Northern Counties Veteran Ladies' Golf Association (NCVLGA) for individuals being considered for the NCVLGA team. The LCSLGA does not supply any personal data it holds to any other third party.

How long we hold your personal data​

We will hold your personal data on file for as long as you are a member with us. Any personal data we hold on you will be securely destroyed after five years of inactivity. Your data is not processed for any further purposes other than those detailed in this policy.​

Your rights regarding your personal data​

As a data subject you may have the right at any time to request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data; to restrict or object to certain kinds of processing of your personal data, to the portability of your personal data and to complain to the UK's data protection supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office about the processing of your personal data.

As a data subject you are not obliged to share your personal data with the LCSLGA. If you choose not to share your personal data with us we may not be able to register or administer your membership.
